Jacques Lacan introduced the notion of subject in the Freudian field. More than a mere concept, it is a term that limits the scope of practice and define its specificity. In this talk I will address two critical moments of Lacanian teaching that give consistency (but not substance) to the subject that emerges from the analytic experience, a person other than the subject of self-knowledge of the philosophical tradition.
This argument will offer a talk on Wednesday in the cycle "Conversations on Psychoanalysis at the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana.
